MFL – curriculum information

At Smawthorne Henry Moore, our language curriculum is based upon Wakefield’s language scheme ‘La Jolie Ronde’. The aim for our children when learning a language is to give them a wider understanding of the French culture and provide them with the phonic, grammar and vocabulary skills to be confident French speakers. Over the time they spend with us, we would like our children to achieve a depth of understanding in French that is developed as they progress through The Smawthorne Experience to equip children with the depth of knowledge they need to transition to Key Stage 3
